PAST AND PRESENT
The Pfannenstielhof has a long and eventful history to look back upon. First mentioned in the records in 1561 – even then with its own wine press or “Torggl” – since 1816 and for seven generations the vineyard has been in the possession of the Pfeifer family, and is therefore considered to be an ancestral estate. It is an expression of our connection with the ground and soil, the enjoyment of agriculture and also the appreciation of our forefathers, who led the vineyard with vision and courage into the present day. Not, of course, without embracing the relevant zeitgeist.
In the past, the family also kept livestock as well as growing grapes and fruit. One activity particularly worth mentioning is the growing of cherries. Our family has only concentrated on growing grapes and apples since the 1950s. In contrast there has always been wine here - pressed in our own wine cellars and sold direct from the farm. A long family tradition that fills us with gratitude and pleasure every single day.
